Биография

Host of the popular Song & Story podcast, Kevin Heider is a storyteller whose music is often imbued with a social consciousness and a spiritual longing. In 2008 he was personally selected by Ingrid Michaelson as the winner of Gibson's "The Way I Am" contest. That was the catalyst for his work as a touring songwriter, recording artist, and producer. In 2013 he released THE SPARK, an ambitious double album that revealed a singer/songwriter sensibility with a versatile style. As one reviewer described it: "The Spark is an album unlike anything I've heard for a while. It feels as sprawling and involved as a Sufjan Stevens record...It's an album that really couldn't be born outside of the American experience." That project was followed up by US (an EP about love) in 2015. In 2019 Heider released Ohio: A Tribute to Springsteen, featuring his arrangements of 10 Bruce Springsteen songs all recorded in the style of The Boss' iconic Nebraska album. His latest release is the 2020 EP Make an Honest Stand, a Dylan-esque collection of original songs recorded during a summer of protests and released right before one of the most politically charged elections in recent memory. The EP is a sincere reflection on the state of the nation and an examination of our collective conscience.
