Norwegian artist composer Kate Havnevik lives in Oslo. She spent her formative years wanting to become a guitarist in Jazz and classical worlds. But having joined a punk band at the tender age of 14 threw a curveball. Since then, Havnevik has explored a wide breadth of styles making her a multi-instrumentalist, versatile and successful artist composer. Kate’s debut album, the critically acclaimed Melankton, was released in 2006 and widely distributed by Universal Republic in 2007. The popularity of the album led to collaborations with electronic music connoisseurs Röyksopp and Tom Middleton. Songs from Melankton has been prominently featured in TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, The O.C., The West Wing and other shows. And for the first time, but popular demand from Kate's fans, she is releasing the instrumental versions of the songs in April 2022. Kate in recent years has focused on Film scoring and has composed music for numerous short films, documentaries and feature films. In 2021, Havnevik completed 7 songs for the Finnish children's film "Silhja" - Fly With Me and an original score for the documentary "Kids Cup" and the Netflix feature film "Battle II". The latter 2 soundtracks are planned for digital release in 2022. Music based on the documentary film "Kids Cup" is being released in the next coming months. Kate Havnevik released her latest album LIGHTSHIP in January 2022.
