Биография
Agathodaimon was formed in September 1995 by Sathonys (guitar) and Matthias Rodig (drums). The initial line-up consisted of Vlad (vocals, keys), Marko T. (bass) and Hyperion (guistar). A first demo was recorded in April 1996, entitled "Carpe Noctem". First record labels became interested, so a second demo "Near Dark" was produced in 1997, which lead to a signing with Nuclear Blast. @Blacken The Angel was released in late 1998 and soon received excellent reviews throughout the international press. Gigs/tours with bands such as Benediction and Hypocrisy followed, as well as some festival gigs at Wacken Open Air, Wave Gotik Treffen and other festivals. A year later, the band prepared for their second album @Higher Art Of Rebellion, which was recorded in Bucharest in order to include original vocalist Vlad who wasn't allowed to return to Germany after having left for Romania in 1997. A headliner tour with Graveworm and Siebenbürgen followed in 2000, after which the songwriting for @Chapter III began. More gigs and festival appearances at Wacken, Wave Gotik Treffen, Summer Breeze etc. were done. Work on @Serpent's Embrace was done in 2004. Recordings for the fifth album, entitled @Phoenix, took again place at Kohlekeller studio. The album was released in march 2009, and followed in 2013 by @In Darkness, which was a step back to the roots. More concerts around Europe followed, but a year later, Sathonys decided to put the band on ice. In February 2020, the band reunited.
