David Michael Arn is not your typical American singer songwriter. He is best known for a lyrical style that is reflected in songs about psychological loss, abuse, unreciprocated love, soldiers haunted by the past. His music is guitar and piano based and reflects the influence of the work of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and folk artists from the sixties. A self-professed literary geek he graduated from Fairfield University with a degree in English Literature and while in the MFA program at the University of Virginia published his first short fiction under the guidance of Peter Taylor, the Pulitzer Prize winning novelist. He has published non-fiction in books and magazines. Since 2010, he has released three albums, “Postmodern Days” ,“Walking to Dreamland”,  "Traveler Tales"  and numerous singles. A new album "Watershed" is forthcoming in September 2022. Despite a lack of mainstream commercial success, he has garnered followers who have come to expect music that is sometimes eclectic but always strong on lyrical content. He has produced award-winning music videos, several of which have been screened in U.S. and UK film festivals.  Among myriad outlets Arn’s music has been featured on NPR stations, BBC Radio, and heard on Delta Airlines commercial flights. He currently lives in Maryland.
