WWF award-winning singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who writes, performs and produces music for my independent label The Art of Protest. I work alone, and have subsequently written, performed and recorded a solo album each year since 2006. My work often addresses humanitarian and philosophical issues. My lyrics have been translated into French, Spanish, Arabic and Japanese and my films play weekly on LinkTV. I got here without a major label or sponsor, without management and lawyers and PR, without promotion and side-kicks and bright lights and dancing bears and pretty girls and privilege. I got here alone, with Mingus and Tom and Nina and Ludwig and Mr Hoffman and Caravaggio and Foster Wallace and Nick and Melville and Willem and Márquez and Black Thought and V. Chesnutt and de Beauvoir and Mallo and Schrödinger's cat and Monk and all of the magnificent people, that pave the way for that which we become. And yes I have sat in a room for 30 years with 2 pianos, 2 guitars, a pen and written songs. The laws of probability would suggest that eventually they would be worthy. Music is airborne, it is ephemeral, it is dream theory and then it is gone….
