EMBVR pulls from pop and r&b influences to tug on your heartstrings and visualise stories as they unfold right in front of you, seamlessly blending the old and the new. The voice behind the music, Emma Burlton, grew up in a small village in Somerset, England. With a musical family where her parents met in a band and toured the UK throughout the 80s, Emma was raised around singing and a variety of music genres & artists. Her own music taste remains ever changing, spanning across multiple genres and time periods, constantly inspiring her to try new things and push her boundaries as a musician. Emma feels influenced most by Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and The 1975. Emma had trouble with verbal communication at a young age and was mostly non-verbal, but started singing very early. Her first fully written song was conceptualised at the age of 8. Emma took the lead role in performances throughout school and was provided with free singing, guitar and violin lessons due to her persistent passion for music despite financial struggles. At the age of just 11, Emma started posting cover songs online, which lead her into the early stages of learning to engineer, and over the years she moved into producing gaming parody songs, then eventually her own original music online. While Emma received occasional lessons, most of what she knows is self taught; from her production skills, to songwriting, singing and engineering. Under "EMBVR", Emma plans to create an experience you won't forget.
