I’m conflicted. A true gemini. My personality is consistently at war with itself. I am the introverted extrovert. Depending on my mood, I can light up a room or suck the life right out of it. I love to laugh. I can find joy in simple, ordinary things most would find mundane. A squawking crow, a crack in the cement. But I’m a walking contradiction. It hides just beneath my smile. Lingering in the back of my mind and in the creases of my tear-soaked pillow case. Feeding the demons in my head. When I wake, it’s still there. Like a shadow. It festers and it knows things; I feel things too deeply. I become obsessed. Before I know it, my mind's in an endless loop. Another rip trip of disaster. Hearing that song that instantly thrashes you into a tidal wave of emotion, with lyrics and a mood that mirrors your own... though painfully reflecting, you play it over and over again. Singing along until your throat feels like you’ve swallowed shards of glass. Why? Because it reminds you you're not alone. Someone who has felt this kind of pain wrote these songs. I write these songs. Songs that get you. Songs you swear could be your own because they are telling your story. You hear them once and remember them. And like your memories, they stay with you forever. I write lyrics about real connections. Real pain. Real trauma and real experiences that anyone can relate to their own.
