Seit 1992 zelebrieren die Kater von An Cat Dubh (gälisch “Die schwarze Katze”) mit einer enormen Spielfreude ihre Konzerte und verwandeln die Konzertsäle jeweils in einen riesigen Irish Pub. Im Dezember 2017 haben sie anlässlich ihres 25.ten-Bandjubiläums ihren neunten Longplayer „What the Folk“ (https://ancatdubh.jimdo.com) veröffentlicht, das von Folknews.de zum Album des Jahres 2018 gekürt wurde. Vierzehn zum Großteil selbst geschriebene Songs spiegeln die enorme Vielfalt der fünf Musiker wider. Maßgeblichen Anteil hat wie immer die Simme von Leadsänger Daniel Zimbrich, die nicht umsonst als „...eine der besten Gesangsstimmen im Celtic Rock, Folk Rock Business...“ (Folknews.de) bezeichnet wird. Under the musical banner Celtic Folk Rock the quintet An Cat Dubh (Gaelic: the black cat) from Darmstadt brings a program bursting with joy of playing onto the stage. Thereby they reinterpret classics from the traditional Irish and Scottish folk music, but also present numerous a capella pieces and own compositions. With their versatile Celtic Folk Rock and the unbeatable entertainer skills on stage, An Cat Dubh make their concerts an experience where the kilts swing ecstatically to rocking riffs or gently sway to Celtic ballads!
