A Czech singer, began playing piano and guitar at a young age, and was only 13 when she met Glen Hansard, an Irish singer songwriter. Together, they went on to write and perform songs, creating the soundtrack for Once, an independant Irish movie they also starred in. In 2008, Glen and Markéta received The Academy Award for best song, Falling Slowly, formed a band The Swell Season and went on to tour, performing on world´s most renowned stages. Irglová released her solo debut, ANAR, in 2011, followed by MUNA in 2014. Today she is based in Iceland, and creates her music at Masterkey Studios, built by her husband, studio engineer and producer Sturla Mio Thorisson. Following a trilogy of long singles titled Quintessence, Among the Living, and Mother comes her third full length album titled LILA, released in August 2022.
