Биография
Not to be confused with the American folk musician and one-time Weaver of the same name, Frank Hamilton is a British singer/songwriter whose passionate, earnest delivery recalls the likes of Glen Hansard. Born and raised in Cambridgeshire, England, a young Hamilton tried his hand at trumpet and drums before getting an electric guitar at age 16. It was then that he began writing songs. He had his first success with the uptempo love song "You, Your Cat & Me," a MySpace cult hit in the U.K. from a 2008 EP of the same name. The Words and Nothing More EP followed in 2011, and he had his biggest streaming hit yet with his Best of #OneSongAWeek LP, released in late 2012. The product of a year-long songwriting challenge, the full set featured tunes co-written by then rising star Ed Sheeran and fellow folk-rock heir Newton Faulkner, among several others. Hamilton followed the album with extensive touring in the U.K. that included a 2013 appearance at Hyde Park with Elvis Costello and Ray Davies. That same year, he released #LondonEyeEP and All of #OneSongAWeek. Led by the poppier single "Lovedrug," his sophomore full-length, Songs to Make Life Slightly Less Awkward, arrived in the second half of 2016. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
