The Whomping Willows is a wizard rock band from Providence, Rhode Island. Since debuting at the first annual Yule Ball in 2005, the band has performed over 750 shows across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Singer/songwriter Matt Maggiacomo has written over 100 songs from the perspective of the wizarding world's most infamous tree. The band's discography spans seven full-length albums, four EPs, and several singles donated to charitable compilations. Matt is a leader of the Harry Potter fandom and served as the Executive Director of the Harry Potter Alliance from January 2015 to June 2019. Matt is also the founder and co-owner of Pitch & Prose, a recording studio and record label based in Rhode Island.
