Emile Minnie is a South African singer-songwriter and entertainer. Before becoming a professional musician, Emile taught music performance and composition to high school learners at York High, SACS High and Jan van Riebeeck High School in Cape Town. He has performed with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, he took part in the International Music Festival in Chile, and he has toured SA and Namibia with chanteuse Danièle Pascal. Emile's show Dagbreek was nominated for a Kanna for Best Music Theatre at the Klein Karoo National Festival, he was a finalist in the World Songwriting Contest, a top 10 finalist in the ATKV Songwriting Competition, and Laurika Rauch recorded three of Emile’s songs on her album ’n Lekker verlang-liedjie. Emile was also a top 10 finalist in the ATKV Crescendo Songwriting Competition. He won third place in the Huisgenoot Songwriting Competition, he played a leading role in the South African film White Wedding, his Nagmusiek album was nominated for a SAMA in the category Best Alternative Afrikaans Album, and he was a finalist in the Media 24 Spontaan Songwriting Competition. Emile has released more than 10 Afrikaans albums, as well as a French album. He currently lives in Uzbekistan. God knows why.
