The Wake, soon to be Wakeland, began back in 1990, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. We were a group of friends getting together to play some music and have some fun. From playing covers at a buddy's bar, we quickly expanded on the local music scene. As our crowds grew, so did our original material. Those early songs soon evolved into our first recorded EP Cassette, "Nothing Lasts Forever". Little did we know this would be the start of a ten plus year career for all of us, that would include busing around the country, overseas adventures, multiple major labels, and 6 studio albums. In September of 2015, Wakeland reunited to play the reopening of the historic VZD’s in Oklahoma City. Originally conceived as a one-time event, the band has continued play a few shows each year to large, enthusiastic crowds, and has no plans of ending anytime soon. In fact, the band has new material that it recorded over the summer. The new album “Don’t Listen to Your Head,” was released in December 2019.
