March 4th 1986, Oxford street, Liverpool : Lewis Evans goes for an initial test-drive of his vocal chords. 36 years on the road later, with 2 band experiences (The Lanskies; Aftersex), this charismatic singer-songwriter has now gathered the songs and worldly wisdom to take a solo path. As the sole captain of his musical adventure (including 3 LP and an EP), Lewis’s tracks roar like thoughtful and delicate folk songs. What’s more, he has plenty of stories to tell. In his new album "L'Ascension", as usual, each of Lewis Evans’ intimate songs is written to hit, with nods to Leonard Cohen’s songwriting skills, winks to Echo and The Bunnymen’s epics and a feel for many a hymn by Oasis.
