Pastell is a story of three friends - Oskar (singer/songwriter), Malthe (songwriter/producer) and Markus (producer). They live in a small city an hour and a half away from Copenhagen and have known each other for 12 years. They first met in the local school band, where they instantly connected - six years later, they agreed to start a band together - Pastell was born. Far away from the and glitz and glamour of Copenhagen, Pastell has worked on developing their songwriting and defining their own sound. The project started in 2016, where they would meet in Markus’ room and write and record music – only equipped with a simple microphone and a laptop. It resulted in a handful of songs that they would send around. Playground Music instantly fell in love with the music, their obvious talent, the band – signed them – they have since then released their debut single “Perfect Girl” and the follow-up single "Freak". Where Malthe is influenced by 80’s pop/disco, Markus finds inspiration in modern pop and various electronic subgenres. Oskar is the singer/songwriter in the band and adds his own personal touch to the mix.
