Vayah originate from Central Australia in a small desert town known as Alice Springs (Mparntwe). They showcase a vast variety of genres such as R&B, HipHop/Rap, Soul and Afrobeats. Both members are producers, however individually they shine more in certain areas. Tyra Latoya (singer/songwriter) is originally from Nairobi Kenya. She moved to Australia with her mother at the age of 6. Tyra has taken inspiration from Sade, the Nigerian-born British singer and Prince, who she happens to share the same birthday with. Jason Renehan (producer/mixing engineer) is a local Arrernte man from Mparntwe. He started playing guitar at the age of 7 and was inspired by greats such as Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani and Kirk Hammett.
