Биография
London-based group The Age Of L.U.N.A. are Butch - real name Eric Vincent Navarro - his school friend Uwafemi Salami, aka Kyote Noir, singer/saxophonist Daniella Wizard (Daniella Thomas) and producer Namali Kofi Oko Kwaten, who goes by NK-OK. Each brings their own influences and sensibilities to the table, and the end results reflect not just the four different musical personalities but the blend of tradition and technology that saw them get together in the first place. The reference points for a rap-based band incorporating male and female vocalists are fairly obvious: the Fugees loom large in the list of musical relatives, while you'd expect the L.U.N.A. crew to also look to the likes of Digable Planets for elements of their inspiration, as well as to collaborations between rappers and female singers such as the several Mary J. Blige enjoyed with rappers such as The Notorious B.I.G. and Method Man. The self-titled album wasn't something they decided to start to make: rather, the group have been writing and recording more or less non-stop since they got together, though 2016 was the year everything started to come together. Their burgeoning fan base will know the likes of debut single 'Blow Me Away', released in March; May's follow-up, the delicate yet forceful love song 'Sweetness', which won them support from DJ Semtex; and the in-your-face rambunctiousness of 'Freddie', which was premiered in August by MistaJam.
