Dear Comrade's diverse sound is a reflection of the musical histories and influences of its contributors. The music, unbound by genre, often varies in mood and texture, but is always earnest and thought provoking. Dear Comrade was founded in 2009 in Brooklyn NY by singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Arthur Kremer, formerly of the indie-rock band Stellastarr* (RCA/SONY/BMG). Kremer was soon joined by guitarist Emmett Aiello, vocalist Stephanie Pekin, drummer Dennis Lehrer and bassist Tim Jansen. The band recorded and released its debut album "All Wisdom is Gone” in January 2012. 2013 saw the release of Dear Comrade’s sophomore effort “Here You Are”. Margaret Dobbins (vocalist) and Phil Zuckerman (bass) have also joined the ranks replacing Stephanie Pekin and Tim Jansen. Joined by drummer Teo Vanovski in late 2014 as a replacement Dennis Lehrer, Dear Comrade began working on their 3rd LP. “So Human” and release in February 2016. “Great Expectations EP” released September 10th 2020 is a collection of music written in Brooklyn, NY, polished in Amsterdam and released in the time of Covid19 pandemic. Kremer is currently working on new music to be released in 2023.
