    Coming a long way from his bedroom producer days in Brighton & Hove, Abuja- based singer/songwriter/producer. Makama formerly known as Smvllz has diligently established a reputation for creating an organic sonic experience in the competitive underground music scene in Nigeria. Drawing influences from hip hop, trap, and house music, Makama delivers ineffable vibes evident in his debut body of work; Northern Saints and follow up single; Drip. His psychedelic, piercing percussive sound mixed with a wide range of textures, layered with intricate flows and doozy hooks and delivered with a unique blend of English and his native language, Hausa shows his authentic approach to his craft that sets him apart from his peers. Makama has succeeded in building a solid connection by fusing different elements and flavours to create a highly addictive collage of sounds, that brings a fresh and innovative style of music which continues to push boundaries and influence the soundscape of the evolving underground Nigerian music scene.
