Miasthenia was born in austral lands in 1994, and through its more than two decades of existence narrated the wars of conquest of America in the sixteenth century with its indigenous resistances, as well as the history and myths of pre-columbian peoples. With portuguese lyrics, the band lends a voice to an obscure pagan past through an unique and original sound within extreme metal. The band is led by Susane Hécate (vocalist and keyboardist) and Thormianak (guitarist and bassist). The band already released four albums through tradicional labels from the South American scene: In 2000 the debut “XVI” (Somber Music), followed in 2004 by “Batalha Ritual” (Somber Music) and in 2008 by the concept álbum “Supremacia Ancestral” (Somber Music), inspired in amerindian resistance movements against the inquisition in colonial America. In 2014 saw the release of the concept album “Legados do Inframundo” (Misanthropic/Mutilation), inspired in the Mayan cosmology of death and the underworld (Xibalba) as narrated in the sacred Popol Vuh and the Chumayel prophecies. The excelente repercussion of “Legados no Inframundo” also yielded an European relase with translated lyrics by the French Label Drakkar. In 2017, the band released the concept album Antípodas by the Brazilian label Mutilation. In 2018, the band performed their first European tour (Portugal, Spain and Germany) to promote the album Antipodes. LINE UP: Hécate (vocals and keys) Thormianak (guitar and bass) Lucano (drums)
