Ascend is a 5-piece synth-rock act based in Taguig, Pateros, and Cavite City. The band is composed of Clayd Manuel, the main frontman on guitars and vocals; Earl Gutierrez, on lead guitar; Jasper Manalo, on the keyboard; John Cabahug on the drums; and Marcus Bustarde on the bass. The band's sound is described by many as a "combination of 80's synthwave with a touch of modern rock music." Mixture of synths and alternative rock music is what shapes the band's current sound.
