Andrea Bustin’s songs reverberate with the voices of others. Her newest work, starting with “Eyes So Soft,” echoes the words of Hafiz, the Iranian poet whose words are still fresh with tenderness and delight after hundreds of years. The single, released on the twentieth anniversary of September 11, reveals a musician whose embrace has broadened, whose roots have deepened, and whose spirit has remained soft through hard times. 
 Holy Fallout, due in October 2021, comes after a long season of releasing elements of toxic religion and learning to hold what is helpful in new ways. The music is elegant and authentic, acoustic, with upright bass from Aaron Jacobs and piano and percussion from longtime collaborator Dan Dorff (Andrew Bird, Ray Lamontagne, Jim James). 
 To listeners recovering from seasons of isolation and redefinition, these songs offer an invitation to an abundant community, to make friends with reality, and to find goodness at work in our ever-present moment.
