Soulrot is a Death Metal band from the port city of Valparaíso, Chile. Born and brought into lethargy in 1993 by J.L Olmos (guitars), is revived again in 2013 along with J.H. Wilschrey (bass & vocals) and F.R.L (drums & vocals) launching in 2014 their acclaimed demo Horrors From Beyond. While they worked in Revelations, a formation change takes place leaving F.R.L and entering D.E. Fredes, releasing this material in 2016 with some live performances with D.E. At the beginning of 2017, the single From My Grave comes to light and later, the same year, his first full length Nameless Hideous Manifestations (2017) The sound of Soulrot is characterized by desecrating the old chainsaw distortion of the school of Scandinavian Death Metal. With many influences like Entombed, Dismember, Carcass, Grave, Autopsy, Nirvana 2002, Asphyx among other, Soulrot make a hodgepodge of homage and refreshment to the sound of Traditional Death Metal very attached to the cosmic horrors, unspeakable fears and existential events present in Lovecraftian literature, pre-Columbian cultures and conspiracies behind the curtain.
