Songwriting has been part of me since I picked up a guitar for the first time as a kid and learned my first 3 chords. I've written a lot of songs for bands and groups over the years, but this is my first solo album. Some recent traumatic, and also beautiful, events helped me to change my approach to life and music - and songwriting called me back: "Hey old friend, where have you been?" Tides and Telescopes is an 11-song autobiographical collection that draws on my own experiences and those of friends and family. These songs have an undertone of hope, connection, friendship and love. I hope they bring some light into the world. I was blessed to collaborate with multi-instrumentalist Steve Varney (Kid Reverie, Gregory Alan Isakov) and his fingerprints can be found all over this album. He is amazing. I also had help from Rob Gardner and many others. Over the years, I co-founded and have written songs for Cinematic Pop and I've been part of several other groups and bands. A few of my songs have been recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Air Studios in London. That was really special and something I'll always treasure.
