Биография

Dan Rico is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer from Chicago, IL, and currently living in Brooklyn, NY. Rico's genre-bending approach to rock music swallows up influences from many eras and spits out a new dish that's fresh, eclectic, and delicious. 
 In Kindergarten, Rico would wait for the school bus singing to himself to stave off the cold midwestern winters. A kind bus driver told him “You have a good voice, you should be a singer.” The bug to perform never left. At age 12 Rico began learning guitar and at age 15 started recording his own songs on a 4-track tape machine. He also played in literally dozens of bands in the budding Chicago scene including Close Hits, Caw! Caw!, Tender, MAMA, The Rubs, and Wet Key. In 2015 Rico's band EGO prolifically recorded a concept album every month based on the corresponding signs of the zodiac. They also ran a label, Maximum Pelt, along with a DIY music venue. 
 Rico's first solo album, "Endless Love," was released by French label Shit in Can Records, culminating in a European tour and appearances at South by Southwest. In 2018 Rico moved to New York and continued releasing music and collaborating with new artists. Today along with solo work Rico plays guitar in Dropper and with local legends High Waisted. Rico's most recent album, "Self Actually" was self-released in 2021. Following a string of singles, including "I'm With You Tonight" and "Perishable," a new album is on the way in 2023.
