Биография
A star within the subgenre of country rap, Lenny Cooper has made a career out of dropping rhymes about his favorite pastime, mud bogging. Rapping with equal parts swagger and Southern twang, when Cooper isn't talking about trucks and mud digging, he's showing love for women, drinking, partying, and good times over simple, bumping beats. 2012's Diesel Fuel was the debut album that put him on the map, and 2016's Dirtified showed Cooper was advancing his style while sticking with his favorite themes. Lenny Cooper grew up in rural North Carolina, where one of his passions was mud bogging with his friends. Cooper also liked music, growing up with classic country but discovering rap when he was nine years old. He started writing songs at the age of 11, and by the time he was 15, he'd learned the basics of recording. At 17 years old, after being encouraged by his friends, he wrote a song, "Mud Digger," about his favorite pastime. Cooper made a home recording of it, passed it around to friends, posted it to YouTube, then went back to his life. The song began to rack up views, and attracted the notice of Colt Ford, who had been tagged in the video. Ford signed Cooper to his Average Joes label, and a debut album, Diesel Fuel, was released by the imprint in 2012, featuring new recordings of "Mud Digger" and some of his other early tunes. It was followed by Mud Dynasty in 2013, which charted at 34 on the Country Albums chart and 17 on the Rap Albums chart. Cooper continued to find success with his third album, The Grind, on which he collaborated with Ford, Bubba Sparxxx, and Bucky Covington. Released in 2014, The Grind reached number 17 on the Billboard country chart and number 13 on the rap chart. He followed up in late 2016 with his fourth LP, Dirtified, whose lead single, "Keep It So Country," featured Georgia country rapper Young Gunner. After a four-year layoff, Cooper returned with 2020's Still the King, which included guest appearances from Big Smo, J Rosevelt, and Anthony BeastMode. ~ Steve Leggett & Mark Deming, Rovi
