Melodic '90s-influenced rock band Diamond Youth formed in 2010 around vocalist/guitarist Justin Gilman, guitarist Sam Trapkin, bassist Daniel Fang, and drummer Brendan Yates. With bandmates based in several cities including Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles, the quartet recorded many of their songs over the Internet via iChat and using GarageBand. Under the moniker Diamond, the band released its debut EP, Don't Lose Your Cool, in 2011.
