I'm, Chenél No.1 , a South African songwriter and lyricist. From folk to rock I'm your gal & I strive not to bore you with long intros, but getting to your favorite part. The chorus! Give Me Your Love a new collaboration with The Perics is available 6 June 2023 and it's a great folk pop song! Two of my favorite songs are Hercules, a spunky rock song with cool guitar riffs & You have to breathe that has a vintage motown rock feel to it that I wrote during lockdown 2020. Also Master of Disguise deals with mental health, so soak it in & get the conversation started. I'm inspired by artists such as P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Dolly Parton, Amy Macdonald, Tom Grennan & The Killers My EP Hey Rose, an singer-songwriter project with Rose Alaimo was released March 2021. It is a project drenched in friendship even though we live across the world from each other. I was nominated for 3 categories of the Afri-Indie Independent Artists Music Awards 2022, Best Newcomer Songwriter, Best Alternative Single & Best Newcomer.
