Биография
Deny & Dino met in Santos in 1956 when both worked for the same radio station. When Dino was fired, Deny threatened the direction with his own resignation. Dino was kept and the duo Os Boas Pintas formed, performing in radio shows and clubs. They were presented as Deny & Dino in 1966, when they had success with their composition "A Coruja" (with which they won the 8th Chico Viola prize, as one of the best of that year). Very popular artists during the Jovem Guarda, they were regular in the major TV shows of the period, like the Jovem Guarda, and wrote songs for other idols of the movement, like Demétrius ("Comendador Mesquita") and Erasmo Carlos ("Eu Não Me Importo"). In 1968 they sold an astonishing number, for the period, of 200,000 copies of their "O Ciúme," which stayed at first place on the charts for 22 weeks. After the end of the Jovem Guarda they had some success in 1969 with "Shut Up." In 1975 they had a hit with "O Maior Golpe do Mundo" (Marcos Lago/Dino Rossi) and "Cantem Comigo." Dino died in 1994 but Deny promoted the duo's recordings during the Jovem Guarda revival brought by the commemorations for the 30 years of the movement through a compilation and the recording of a new album, Essencial, with another partner who adopted the stage name Dino. ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
