Биография

Her music sways between alternative rock, pop, and jazz in her native language Spanish. Through her guitar and voice, combined with synths and other instruments, she tells us stories about people who inhabit the night, stories of love and heartbreak. During her career, Joanne has performed in various venues in Ecuador and in the USA. Some of these include festivals like the International Songwriters Festival at Teatro Sucre (Quito, Ecuador) among acclaimed artists like Lenine (Brazil) and Juana Molina (Argentina), L Creativo (Los Angeles, California) and Fiesta de la Música (Quito, Ecuador). Today, you can hear her playing regularly at venues in New York City like Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, and Pete’s Candy Store. As a solo artist, she previously released her first album Silencios Incómodos (winner of a grant from the Ministry of Culture of Ecuador). Simultaneously, she has collaborated as a singer with the Metropolitan Band of Quito, and has composed/arranged for contemporary dance projects that have been performed in Quito, Bogotá, Los Angeles and soon in Paris (Gerard and Kelly Group, October, 2019)
