The Two founding members, Mike Stark and Tommi Korkeamäki, met through an ad that Mike had put out online in mid 2016. After meeting, they quickly found out that they both shared the same musical vision. They teamed up with Stefan Essmyren on drums and his long time friend, Tommy Jee, on bass. They recruited Mats Hedström on lead guitar shortly after and the line-up of Stormburner was complete. 
 Their debut album "Shadow Rising" was released through the German label Pure Steel Records in 2019, and was critically acclaimed worldwide. It was also the best-selling debut album of the label since its inception in 2006. The masterful album art was painted by none other than Ken Kelly (Manowar, KISS and Rainbow). They quickly gained a good reputation in the worldwide heavy metal underground and their release party was a huge success for the band. 
 Festivals and shows abroad were booked for 2020, but sadly all were postponed due to the pandemic. In spite of those circumstances they have gathered a small, but dedicated, following all over the world that continues to grow. 
 In 2021, they started to work on their sophomore album which will hopefully be released before the end of the year.
