Биография
With an ever-growing maturity, living in the juxtaposition of chaos and candor, the Canadian progressive post-hardcore quartet The Burden is as much a band as they are a journey into the shadows of the heart. Drawing on elements of the glory days of post-hardcore from artists like Underoath and Silverstein and weaving them with intricate and honest reflections of love and loss, the northern B.C. band’s continual rise to prominence is only amplified by their unapologetic approach to raw lyricism and therapeutic song writing. Taking all their explosive growth into account, it’s no surprise that in 2022 The Burden signed their first record deal with Open Your Ears Records. The label’s focus until then was working primarily with more accessible artists, but after hearing some of The Burden’s recent demos, they knew the risk would outweigh the reward and decided to use them as a flagship opportunity to expand their roster with heavier music. The Burden’s newest single “Deathbed Daydream” is a milestone for the band in many ways. Not only is it arguably the best The Burden has ever sounded, marking a new era for a band that strives for constant evolution and boundary pushing musicianship, but it sets them apart from the masses yet again, reminding those around them that being vulnerable is the best way to heal.
