Биография
Vița de Vie, of the most appreciated Romanian alternative rock bands, was formed în 1996. The first record they put out is named “Rahova” and was released in 1997, after the band had already gone through some line-up changes. The year 1999 was the year Vița de Vie hit the jackpot, releasing their second album called „Fenomental”, which put the band in the limelight, the single “Basul și cu toba mare”, being to this day one of the best evergreen rock songs in Romanian music history. They continued to launch albums, “Lucky Nights Live” (2000) collaborating with Timpuri noi, “Exxtra” (2001), “Doi” (2002), “9704” (2004) which is their 7 year anniversary Best of.., “Egon”(2007), “Fetish” (2010) and “Acustic” (2013) which featured re-orchestrations of their most famous songs. In 2016, Vița de Vie marked their 20-year anniversary with a big concert in February, in which they even played a few songs from their upcoming album at the time, that was being split into two parts: “Șase (+)” and “Șase (-)”. In the course of their existence, Vița de Vie received many awards like the OTTO Award for Best Band, PTFR’s Best Alternative Album Award for “Exxtra” and MTV’s Best Live Award, not forgetting to give back by getting involved in charity campaigns. Being one of the most successful Romanian acts in the last 20 years, Vita de Vie played numerous concerts and festivals as Electric Castle, Tuborg Green Fest, Peninsula, New Wave Fest, Folk You! Florian Pittiș, B’Est Fest or Shine Festival.
