In their hard-hitting post-punk Loose Ends manage to embrace both melancholy and ferociousness, and on March 31 2023, they released their debut album, ‘A Blatant Reaction’, via FIVE FOOT ONE Records. 
 The same way the dystopian ‘Truths of this World’ opens the doors to a mind of incomprehension and stoic sadness, ‘Perhaps’ closes off the album with slow burning regret for the acts of frustration and self-loathing. 
 Loose Ends have blossomed out of the Aarhus underground, with the legendary and now sadly defunct TAPE as its epicenter. The album’s lead single ‘By the Leash’ was a spit in the face of the city officials who had demolished a burgeoning creative community by defunding the venue in 2021. 
 But it doesn’t get any more disheartened than on the last song the band wrote for the album. The emo-esque and screaming ‘Less’ suggests an even more extreme direction for the quintet going forward. Desolation has won and there is nothing else left. 
 Through their intense and unrestrained shows Loose Ends make audiences cheer, cry and fight. They are immensely confrontational and you better not be in the way of frontman Holger when he goes off! Audiences quickly surrendered when the band took over the venue HeadQuarters as part of last year’s SPOT Festival, and in the crowd was unmistakably excited music journalist David Fricke (Rolling Stone), who subsequently named them one of the best bands he had seen, on his radio report from the festival.
