Биография
R0B0T5 4 FR1END5 is an Alternative Rock / Heavy Indie band based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Formed in 2018, the band consists of Gülay Erol, Matthew James Harrison, Burak Özkök, and Güntaç Kaki. When British singer/songwriter Matthew Harrison put a call out for Brit-Rock drummers, it only took a few minutes for fellow Brit Paul Hindley to respond, and the pair met to make some noise in a sports hall printing room. A second ad landed the duo’s next member: Bass player Güntaç Kaki. With Harrison on guitar & vocals, the 3-piece spent the next 12 months playing together. During this period, the bulk of material was being released from a 15-year-old vault inside Harrison's ageing mind: songs about violence, loneliness, heartbreak & the passing of youth. Meanwhile, Güntaç was looking for ways to combine different genres to create a diverse repertoire and go out of the mainstream. Enter new arrival in town, Gülay Erol – a woman with a powerful voice & a taste for metal & all things eclectic. And along with Güntaç's taste for bands such as Tool, NIN, & A Perfect Circle, the group's style of music started to evolve into something truly unique. A blend of groovy sing-along melodies, steady beats, funky basslines & soaring female vocals. With a desire to dedicate more time writing new songs & playing live, Burak Özkök was invited to take over behind the drums in 2021. Burak brings years of drumming experience and a taste for iconic bands such as Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Elbow, and more.
