Биография
The daughter of Academy Award winner Sissy Spacek, Schuyler Fisk maintained an acting career throughout her teens and early twenties before shifting focus to her songwriting, which melded contemporary folk-pop with an intimate singer/songwriter approach. Fisk was born in 1982 in Los Angeles, CA; shortly thereafter, she and her mother moved to the Appalachian college town of Charlottesville, VA, where she began starring in school theater productions. Although roles in The Babysitters Club and the Jack Black vehicle Orange County gave Fisk her own taste of Hollywood, she opted to remain in Virginia, attending college at the University of Virginia while continuing to make occasional television and film appearances. She began actively pursuing music in her early twenties, beginning with a songwriting partnership with Joshua Radin and a contract with Universal Records. The duo penned a song for The Last Kiss soundtrack in 2006, and Fisk joined Radin on the road shortly thereafter. After four years on the Universal roster, however, no full-length album had appeared, prompting Fisk to leave the label in 2008 and digitally release her debut effort, The Good Stuff. ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
