Биография
Rita Redshoes is an acclaimed Portuguese alternative pop singer/songwriter who made her Top Ten hit solo album debut in 2008 with Golden Era. Born Rita Pereira and hailing from Loures, Portugal, she began her musical career in the late '90s as the singer of the band Atomic Bees. The band released an album, Love Noises and Kisses (2000), and opened for the Cranberries in Lisbon before dissolving. In subsequent years, Rita played piano for singer/songwriter David Fonseca on his 2003 tour and was featured on the song "Hold Still" from his album Our Hearts Will Beat as One (2006). She made her full-length solo album debut as Rita Redshoes in 2008 with Golden Era. A Top Ten hit on the Portuguese albums chart, Golden Era spawned numerous hit singles ("Hey Tom," "Dream on Girl," "The Beginning Song," "Chose Love") and earned Rita a nomination for Best Portuguese Act at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. Produced by Rita in conjunction with Nélson Carvalho, Golden Era features contributions from backing musicians Filipe Monteiro (guitar, keyboards), Nuno Simões (bass), and Sérgio Nascimento (drums). ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
