Describing their sound as Alternative Pop Punk, Ix Chel took bits and pieces of their favourite genres and blended them together with the raw power of Punk. Consisting of Ana (Vocals/Guitars), Galang (Vocals/Guitars/Bass) and Aizad (Drums/Vocals/Programming), Ix Chel was formed in March 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown in Malaysia. As the whole world scrambles trying to cope with the pandemic, Galang immediately went to work in his home studio; recording songs that he has written from all the way back in 2015 in his hometown of Jakarta. This compilation of songs would later materialize as Ix Chel’s debut EP “At War With Negligence”. From the uplifting spirit of “Just Another Typical Inspirational Song” to the danceable love letter “Rainbow”, Ix Chel’s lyrics mainly deal with positivity and overcoming adversities in life. In a point in history where life seems cold and miserable, Ix Chel hopes to start spreading hope and love through their music into the world.
