Ashley Wool wrote her first song at the age of 7 to accompany a "butterfly rock star" costume she conceived for Halloween. Her one-of-a-kind theatrical instincts have fueled her artistry ever since. As a musical theatre performer she received a BroadwayWorld Award First Runner-Up for her gender-bent take on Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar, as well as an OnStage Critics Award nomination for her turn as Wednesday Addams in the NY regional premier of The Addams Family musical. When she's not playing other people, Ashley is a singer/songwriter of bold, theatrical pop-rock songs. In collaboration with producer Gabriel Pressman and industrial rock singer/songwriter Garek, 2020 spawned the singles Half of My Life, Automatoronic, and Starving Artist, currently spinning on radio stations and podcasts across the world. She is currently working on her full-length debut album. Ashley has also reached a global audience as a rising star of the neurodiversity movement. Diagnosed autistic at the age of 20, she is committed to challenging and expanding perceptions of neurodivergence, championing intersectionality within the disability advocacy community, and encouraging positive, diverse, and nuanced disability representation in the arts.
