Kielen King, originally from Saginaw, MI gravitated to music at a young age, knowing he wanted to be making music. He found a couple of like-minded friends in HS & formed a hip hop group. After several years of honing his lyric writing & relocating to Portland, he made appearances rapping during the band @Grooveyard’s live shows around Portland, OR; eventually leading to him landing his own hip-hop performances. Having taught himself the ins and outs of digital music, Kielen began crafting his dark, melodic sound which often ventures into aggressive & sinister. In addition to his periodic new releases, Kielen has officially released 15 albums: Addicted to Blue (as a member of Azure Noir), Soundtrack for an Automated Night, Soundtrack for an Automated Night II, Don’t Touch the Mask (as El Luchador Negro), Star Pilot's Lament, Star Pilot's Revenge, Star Pilot's Demesne, 8-bit Ships, Warmusic: Future Wars / Warmusic: Past Wars (as a member of Preytorians), Nathan Dunbar’s ‘Nightlife’, Baby Boxing, Touchin' Wormholes (the 20th anniversary Farscape tribute), Preytorians — Chop Shop (EP) , 4-Square (EP), & Verse Quietude . He also appeared on the pandemic-inspired release “Social Distancing” from rapper/producer, Kno. Kielen has carved out a niche with non-traditional hip-hop fans that exist adjacent to the Nerdcore genre. Preferring to be known for his unique compositions and willingness to color outside the lines, he's able to shift gears often & deliver interesting compositions.
