Биография
Kneeling at the feet of 90’s-era heroes like Pixies and The Breeders, Melbourne-based rockers IV League still manage to make music that not only draws from their influences, but also creates something that is refreshingly unique. It’s undeniable there’s something special within the vocal stylings of front woman Bella Venutti, simultaneously solid as a rock and sweet as candy. It’s with this versatile outlook to making music that she and her musical partner in crime - Lachie Gilmour (guitars) - strive to meet the grunge ferocity with low key and tender moments with a constant focus on perfect pop vocal hooks. With their leanings towards the swirlier side of production, a tidy trio of singles have been released, much to the joy of indie-music lovers the world over, but it was their third and most recent - ‘Change My Mind’ - that has served them best. Australian national youth broadcaster triple j added it immediately to their playlist and gifted them a spot at Melbourne’s St Jerome’s Laneway Festival early in 2017 via their Unearthed platform. The rest of the year saw the band race around the country in record time with kindred spirits Ali Barter and Bec Sandridge and end the year with a bang at Falls Festival in Lorne. In 2018, as they bury themselves in the studio with producer Malcolm Besley (The Creases, City Calm Down), it’s clear that IV League are poised to deliver on the consistent hype that surrounds their collegiate name
