“We’re all gonna die someday. So stop caring about other people´s expectations, and do as you please!” This is the mindset of indie, punk alias Vandbakk. After facing various challenges and prejudices associated with ADHD, Vandbakk has felt a strong desire to break free and embrace his true self. For Vandbakk, music has become a channel through which he can express his chaotic thoughts and emotions. The music is filled with anxiety and frustration, and carries a high level of energy. Genre-wise, it resides somewhere in the indie rock world, with elements of punk and emo. Up until now, Fredrik has developed his sound through experimenting with various styles, which is evident in his music catalog. This experimentation has finally resulted in a consistent sound in a full-length album. I addition to music, Vandbakk strives to be a figure who breaks norms and expectations, encouraging freedom and openness while urging others to live in the moment. This is reflected in his unique style, which can be described as a tough, gloomy rock boy with a soft voice - often seen in skirts and makeup while performing loud and powerful songs.
