Биография

Gary « Riga  » Burke is a producer / composer / engineer from Geneva, Switzerland. He spent the last 15 years traveling between London, Geneva and Barcelona (as well as touring with artists he was collaborating with). He created HEMP HIGHER CREW in 2002, with his friends by building a soundsystem in order to promote reggae and dancehall music in Switzerland and around Europe. In 2007 he started managing Cali P before creating HEMP HIGHER PRODUCTIONS, the label, and adding Randy Valentine to the roster in 2011. This connection led them to touring worldwide. Between 2014 and 2016 his label dropped 4 No1 albums on the iTunes reggae charts, as well as getting oppurtunities for his artists to collaborate with some of the top names in the industry (Major Lazer, Wu-Tang Clan). Since then, Riga travelled a lot to Jamaica and worked on riddims for other producers including tracks with Vybz Kartel, Sizzla, Popcaan, Konshens, Stonebwoy , Walshy Fire , Massive B , Jugglerz. Between 2017 and 2020 Riga took a break from production and focussed on artist live bookings and setup 2 European tours for Stonebwoy , as well as with top jamaican acts such as jahmiel, Jesse Royal, Charly Black, Serani, Chi Ching Ching and more… After covid hit, he returned to the studio in 2022 and started working on a bunch of tracks creating international collabs between Switzerland, Ghana, the UK and Jamaica.
