An Ode to the Synthesiser, This DJ is bringing Back the ‘80s Sounds Abhishek Chanda, popularly known as Synths Back gets his alias from his obsession with the synthesiser. For a boy who grew up on the islands of Andaman and Nicobar, his exploration for jazz, funk and soul brought him to the mainland. After it dawned on him that his sounds would be a marriage of retro synth and futuristic house and afro, he then went on to create his single ‘Luna’ in 2018. He has recently released music that includes the remix of Fake Tattoos’ single ‘Arambol’ and a club version of Monolink’s ‘Sirens’ which has Abhishek’s spin with percussion and synth. Having been a professional DJ the past three years, he has consciously made an effort to expand the music community in the city by offering his skill sets as a teacher to upcoming and aspiring DJs saying that he wants the “new generation to absorb the culture and sounds of the ‘80s”.
