Биография
We create music inspired by the pre-Christian era in the regions of northern Russia. Just as the Russian North is a place of contact of cultures, so we create gloomy atmospheric philosophical music that combines elements of folklore of various nationalities living in the northern regions of ancient Russia of the 10th century. In our work, you can find both Slavic motifs and Scandinavian atmospherics, as well as folklore elements of the ethnic groups of the Russian north-the Finno-Ugric peoples of the Sami, Veps, Karelians, etc. The name "Yaruga" in Old Slavonic means "ravine". In the name of the collective, the ravine (Yaruga) is a metaphor describing a hidden place overgrown with deep grass and thickets, is a hidden and unexplored place, to which, in order to study it, you will certainly have to go down and see everything with your own eyes. And only then, a brave and searching traveler will find a place of strength and gain knowledge and wisdom, or find his own destruction. Thus, the ravine (Yaruga) this is something indefinite, sacred. So the Yaruga collective carries a hidden at first glance, intimate musical philosophy of attitude to life. At the moment there are 5 permanent members in the group: Denis Brivin is the founder, frontman, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist. Pavel Pitel - lyricist, vocals, wheel lyre, tambourine Daniil Danilov - drums Evgenia Frolova - vocals, gusli/lyre lyricist Vadim Semenov -vargan/jew’s harp
