Vulnerable, cathartic, and passionate; The Safest Ledge exists to approach its listeners with an intimate conversation of trauma, loss, and love; as lyricist Joseph Koval pens difficult thought after subject. At their inception; the band showcased elements reminiscent of contemporary emo in their sophomore release ‘The Space Between Words’; progressing to a blend of impactful and aggressive modern hardcore and metal; with efforts such as ‘Healing Pool’ and ‘What Have You Done’; cementing their derivative sound with modern acts such as Dayseeker and Loathe. The Safest Ledge has found spirit in collaboration; as evident by their joint effort with Aaron Gillespie of Underoath & The Almost; on the joint track ‘Healing Pool.’ The band continues to establish the underutilized effort of collaboration in the rock and metal genre; with their upcoming cover of pop/rock artist Olivia Rodrigo’s ballad ‘Deja Vu.’ Kellin Quinn of Sleeping with Sirens joins the band in reinventing the identity of the pop track; maintaining the soft and ethereal features of its original; while blending impactful low octave guitars, dynamic percussion, and electronic sounds; derivative of contemporary rock and metal artists.
