Биография
Cinematic, heartfelt alternative rock is the foundation of Massachusetts trio Valleyheart's take on emo-tinged indie rock. The band released their debut album, Everyone I Ever Loved, on Rise Records in 2018, then went on to define their own sound on their sophomore LP, Heal My Head, in 2022. Formed by singer/songwriter Kevin Klein and childhood friend Filipe Inacio -- who had cut their teeth playing in hardcore bands as teenagers -- the project was conceived to flesh out Klein's solo folk output. Adding Chris Babbit on bass and Jonathan Miller on drums, the group issued their debut EP, Nowadays, in 2016. Catching the ear of Rise Records with their mix of anthemic, emo-infused alt-rock, the band inked a deal with the label, which reissued the EP in 2017, remastering, remixing, and adding two additional tracks to the release. Valleyheart then entered the studio with producer and engineer Kevin Billingslea (Lamb of God, Trivium) to start work on their debut album. Following the release of a handful of single tracks, the record, Everyone I Ever Loved, appeared at the end of 2018, with a tour of the U.S. in support of the album the following year. In 2020, Miller parted ways with the band, eventually being replaced by Zachary Nix. New music appeared in 2021 with the release of the EP Scenery, and the group returned to the studio with Billingslea to record their sophomore album. Valleyheart signed to Tooth & Nail, and the first fruits of the sessions appeared in early 2022 with the release of the tracks "The Numbers," "Your Favorite Jacket," and "Miracle"; the record, titled Heal My Head, arrived that June. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
