Биография
Ashley Thomas, Hollywood actor and star of shows like the critically acclaimed THEM, 24, The Night Of, and the Brit favourite Top Boy. In the mid 00s Bashy was one of the leading and most exciting MCs in the scene hailing from North West London. Bashy strove to be different and with a uncompromisable confidence & presence, punchline heavy freestyles and unique storytelling it was always clear he was here to make a name for himself on his own terms. Ur Mum Vol. 1 created a buzz but it was the Chupa Chups Mixtape which skyrocketed him to one of the most influential artists within the British rap scene in its infancy. Chupa Chups gained street notoriety, but one song in particular would put Bashy in the spotlight - Black Boys. One of Bashy’s biggest contributions to UK music was the iconic song Black Boys, a tribute to Black Brits. Shouting out fellow MCs along with influential actors, singers, comedians, athletes and more. Bashy set out to make a positive song for black youth in the UK. The momentum from Black Boys led to releasing several remixes featuring Skepta, Ghetts, Wretch 32 Chip, Big Narstie and Akala. Bashy was speaking to a wider discussion not only about black excellence but racial injustices on a global scale. This all lead to the release of Bashy’s debut album Catch Me If You Can. He also features on the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach alongside Kano and the Syrian National Orchestra.
