Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, DJ Tripp is a product of his cultural environment. The young artist was engulfed in music at a young age, surrounded by talented vocalists. His grandmother, Cheryl Harvey, was a notable Gospel singer. Sheryl sparked an interest in music for Trip, strengthening his desire to read music in the fourth grade. This effortless yet inviting instrument pushed Tripp to develop his skills as a snare percussionist for Westlake High School. He reminisces on the knowledge gained from the legendary band instructor Mr. Smith - an iconic figure within the South Fulton community. With Smith's teachings under his belt and a natural thirst for musical knowledge, Trip began performing as a D.J. Trip practiced incessantly as a disc jockey, throwing parties with his High School friends. Tripp's High School parties soon solidified his reputation as a competitive D.J. Tripp furthered his musical experience by attending Full Sail University. With this certification, He engineered for Killer Mike , Jazze Pha, and Young Thug, and worked on the production for #BlackPortland - a pivotal moment in his musical career. D.J. Tripp's experiences positioned him for his in-person introduction to Dallas Austin. This transformative meeting led to a record deal for the hit single "Baby Steps" - a fun, vibrant dance song with the underlying meaning of taking life day by day. Given his work ethic and undeniable talent, D.J. Trip is destined for a bright and lucrative future.
