MEDEIROS/LUCAS are Carlos Medeiros and Pedro Lucas - two islanders separated in age by thirty years and plotting to set their musical roots into motion. Both come from the Azores, a Portuguese archipelago lost halfway between the old and the new continent, home to sailors, gone whalers and volcanic landscapes. Medeiros brings the salt of the sea in his voice, Lucas creates the settings with poignant finger picking of his guitars. They have released a trilogy of records - Mar Aberto (2015), Terra do Corpo (2016), and Sol de Março (2018) – strongly rooted in the poetry of a young prodigy of Portuguese literature: the fellow Azorean João Pedro Porto.
